Style at Shot Rock

Having pondered the style or unifying theme that I want to bring to my White Lea Farm photographs I drew a blank, so it was time for outside help. After asking a few friends and receiving some helpful comments and pointers I started to make progress.

The main help was a mind map, just getting all my impressions about the space down on a piece of paper. Writing down ‘revitalising’ and ‘refreshing’ produced a little twinge of excitement but I wasn’t sure why until I went to Easington later in the week.
High tide, a fullish moon and some strong winds had created some might waves. And so the unifying theme was revealed to me, the sea. The sea that clears the industrial waste from this stretch of coast. The sea that makes the area natural and beautiful again. The sea that destroys the coast in a never ending assualt on every molecule of the coast. The sea, cleanser and destroyer.
Those words, revitalising and refreshing, both myself and the Easington coast.
