Time to escape

Being the hard working photographer isn’t all about waiting in lovely outdoor spaces for the perfect light, there is quite a lot of desk/business stuff to deal with too, and I have definitely been doing too much of the latter and not enough of the former recently, although the drab weather hasn’t helped. So, as a little reward to myself I’m off on a little road trip round the Scottish Islands soon.

The first week of September will be a visit to the Outer Hebrides with my friend David Taylor . I visited a few years ago, but didn’t get much chance for photography. I’m really looking forward to getting back, especially to the amazing beaches.

And in October, for a whole month, I will be on the Shetland Islands. I have family up there, but only seem to have visited the south end of the islands, so I’m going to take the opportunity to visit the north end of the mainland and some of the northern islands. Remote and craggy, it is quite a place.

I can also take the opportunity to check out my touring exhibition with the Bonhoga Gallery. Have a look in my Featured News section for more details of this exhibition.

I will start putting photos up in the Gallery when I return. At that time of year the weather could be quite challenging, so expect some wild photographs, hopefully.
