Skye trip

02

Apr

It rained, it snowed, it blew 40mph, it was the Isle of Skye at it's usual best. New photographs in my Recent Work Gallery. The highlight of the week was undoubtedly losing my dog Zarna up the Quiraing stack during a storm. In a true farce fashion we spent half an hour trying to find each other during the storm, as I got to the top, she had found a way down, and by the time I was back down, she had found a way that missed me back to the top. Up and down! Thankfully I managed to retrieve her without incident. And that's about all that can be said about this trip. For 1200 miles I got 1 decent photograph. Such is the nature of the landscape photographers life and I can't be too bitter about it as the last time I was there I managed to make about 7 portfolio grade photographs in the week, so I guess it balances out and I'll try and ignore the current cost of fuel. Speaking of fuel, I traded in my Clio for a Volkswagen van which provides a much better home away from home whilst away. Plenty room to shelter (as well as for deliveries whilst at home), it made a big difference to have a mobile base. Recommended for any landscape photographer thinking about a new vehicle.
