Photography workshops with fifiefofum

I’m delighted to announce that in 2008 I will be running photography workshops with the fifiefofum gallery near Corbridge. This is a delightful gallery who also happen to run a series of stimulating and useful workshops in their grounds and woodlands overlooking the Tyne Valley. I’ve attended their painting workshops in the past and found them useful and enjoyable, and they put on a great lunch grin

We are going to run a couple of different workshops, more details, costs and booking here:

Beginning Photography

Level - beginner to intermediate
Whilst camera makers will have us believe that the modern camera will do everything for you except press the button, we all still make photographs that don’t capture the moment or the experience. From family snaps and holiday memories, to photographs to paint from, this course will help you improve your photography and make creative photographs that really capture the moment.

We will start the day in the delightful grounds to establish your present level of ability and get some fresh air before going into the classroom for a few hours of essential theory and lunch. Afterwards we will explore the grounds and lake, again giving you the chance to put the theory into practice, whether it is landscapes or portraits. The day will be wrapped up in the classroom with tea/coffee and a review of the day’s photographs.

You will be provided with a booklet summarising the course content and sources of further information.

Outcomes:
- make photographs that really capture the moment
- basic camera operation
- understand how to see photographically
- understanding simple composition
- basic image fixes and printing/books/greetings cards/calendars
- archiving - how to ensure your photos are safe for the future
