New photographs in recent work gallery

For the first time in a long time I have some new photographs to show in my recent work gallery.

It doesn't feel easy at the moment. It's like learning photography all over again. I keep making basic mistakes. Like forgetting to put the ISO back to the base value for the best quality. And photoshop. I prefer a very subtle amount of manipulation, but that takes a quiet eye and practise which I am definitely out of. Some some of the images might be a little gauche.

However, I am out in the world again. Although it feels different this time. I don't feel the same passionate zeal that I felt before. It is more like a smouldering ember that is still hot and can burst into flames, but is calmer. I don't feel the drive to have to make images or the gut wrenching disappointment when I can't or the weather doesn't play, again. 

It's deeply satisfying though to be making images now. There is nothing in this new work that is portfolio material, but I hope you may enjoy some of it anyway.

I'm off somewhere again this week, maybe the Lakes again (unfinished business there), so we shall see.
