The Biscuit Factory success. My preview exhibition at the Biscuit Factory was nearly sold out by Sunday night, only 48 hours after opening. Local Photographer Snaps up Success Local landscape photographer, Mike McFarlane, has achieved success at the Biscuit Factory's (www.thebiscuitfactory.com) summer exhibition. Mike, who is one of four photographers exhibiting at the Newcastle gallery, opened to great acclaim, selling three prints on the first night of the show. This initial interest has been followed by strong sales in the first week of the two month long exhibition, selling eight of the nine prints initially supplied to the gallery. This made him the biggest selling artist for the Biscuit Factory during the week. 党Mike’s work has been very successful in it’s debut at the Biscuit Factory. His coastal scenes have an out-of-this-world quality which creates a clear, cool, sparkling image. They work well alongside his River Series which focuses on details of rushing water, in turns calming and exhilarating. As an increasingly important medium in the arts, it is great to begin developing our photography element with such beautiful work”. Mike made many new contacts through the opening, meeting potential commercial clients and other artists. One of the contacts Mike made was with leading communications agency Admiral PR and Marketing (www.admiralpr.co.uk) which is based in the centre of Newcastle. They have purchased seven prints to hang in their new boardroom. Georgie Cameron, Managing Director of Admiral, said: “Mike’s work is simply beautiful, he has given an entirely new creative dimension to some of our best-loved regional landscapes. He is a leading light in a wave of emerging creative talent for the region and we are extremely pleased to be able to be able to support him in this way.” Subsequent to this initial success at the Biscuit Factory, Mike's photographs will be on display permanently at the Biscuit Factory.
