I forgot how good it was to be alive
With the wrens and the finches twittering in the cliffs above that I had just scrambled down from crumbly ledge to sharp little handholds
A flotilla of diving cormorants floats past me
Sitting on a 100 ton boulder
As the next giant waves breaks feet away
A wave that could crush or grind me to paste
It disappears under my boulder shaking it and drenching me in spray
Now I am alive.
