(Silence, Dunstanburgh Castle, Northumberland, England, 2005)

Dunstanburgh Castle is much photographed and for good reason. The classic shot involves the gorgeous round black boulders nearer the castle, but I was looking for something different. I took a strong simple foreground that minimised the castle and waited for the light in perfect silence.

Nikon D2X, 12-24mm lens @ 14mm, 1/10s at f/18 ISO100, Lee 0.6ND hard grad filter.
